Ann I rant, I rant so far away...

My oh my...
How about that Ann Coulter?
It is quite challenging working with the generation that comprises the population I professionally serve...

The sweetest 92 year old lady was having a conversation with me, and managed to include several times about how the gays are "taking over the schools", and Islamic people have a plan to build mosques next to colleges, and then marry all of the college girls to "take over"...

...and it is all part of the LAST DAYS, where children turn on their parents, we all get bar coded on our foreheads or on the appropriately beastly hand...and dogs and cats sleep together...(but she is SO SWEET and fun to talk to, minus that stuff...)

And then the next old lady wanted to tell me all about the terrific book by Ann Coulter she is reading called the "Church of Liberalism", or some such thing...and how it laments our going soft on crime, soft on welfare moms...just generally lacking the big, hard, stiff one in our country, I guess...

Again, a VERY sweet woman. I decided NOT to talk politics and give her a heart attack.

So I take my frustrations home, and then blog 'em out, baby.

I must post a few responses on Ann Coulter from a website I so enjoy....

it's not so much that we hate ann coulter for speaking her mind, because that's hard to do. it's more that we hate her for her dishonesty. which is to say this: free speech is an important right that we should all cherish, and it makes me sad that someone like ann coulter would engage in such a dishonest use of it.

of course, she has the right to say whatever the hell she wants. but as a professional "journalist" or "commentator" or whatever she is, it seems like she should hold herself to a higher standard of truth than, um, lying. in her column she seems to state that private funding for stem cell research is not pouring in "hand over fist," when in fact it is, as we show.

the problem with ann is that she lies. lies. lies. lies. that's all there is to it. we've documented several egregious lies on this site, but the point is really this. we don't mind that she disagrees with us. in fact, we welcome debate. but it's hard to have a serious, substantive debate with someone who doesn't have their facts straight.

To be honest, though, Ann Coulter deserves to be lauded in that she has made a substantial mark in a world dominated by testicular viewpoints. Unfortunately, her inabilty to make a point without backing it up with a Jackie Mason style punchline makes a mockery of her accomplishments. She has made herself out to be a one-trick pony, on the verge of becoming a jackass. Making a stand as an intelligent woman is to be highly regarded, stealing the routine of Andrew Dice Clay belittles you makes other Neo-conservative females just as unsufferable.
